Disney and Marvel Studios have updated the release schedule for upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films.
Marvel Release Schedule
Marvel has officially changed the names of “Avengers: Doomsday,” “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” and “Thunderbolts*” (the asterisk is part of the name). Respectively, they’re still scheduled for release on May 1, 2026; July 25, 2025; and May 2, 2025.
Before “Thunderbolts*” will be “Captain America: Brave New World,” in theaters on February 14, 2025. “Thunderbolts*” will mark the end of Phase Five and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will start Phase Six.
Though “Blade” has lost two directors, it’s still scheduled for release on November 7, 2025. First announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, “Blade” will star Mahershala Ali as the titular character. Production was initially scheduled to begin in 2022 with a release date of September 6, 2024. It was delayed to February 2025 and then November 2025.
Marvel has removed an untitled film from July 24, 2026, in line with Disney CEO Bob Iger’s comments about reducing output from the studio to focus on quality and newness.
However, two untitled/unannounced films remain on the schedule for February 13, 2026, and November 6, 2026. These would both be part of Phase Six and come between “Blade” and “Avengers: Doomsday.” Films that have been announced but aren’t attached to a release date yet include “Armor Wars,” “Spider-Man 4,” and “Shang-Chi 2.”
The final film on the schedule is “Avengers: Secret Wars” on May 7, 2027. The Russo brothers are directing the two upcoming “Avengers” films. Read more about the upcoming MCU films.
