The 7 Best AND Worst 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival Menu Items

The 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has brought us several delicious dishes — but also several terrible ones (we’re looking at you, Italy). Here are the 7 worst and 7 best from this year’s Food & Wine festival.

The Worst 7

#7 – Mango Sunrise Margarita (Mexico)

A large, orange-colored drink with a chili powder-rimmed cup sits on a table by a body of water, surrounded by green foliage and buildings in the background—a picturesque Food & Wine scene.

This tastes like Chloraseptic. It’s another disappointing drink from the Mexico booth.

#6 – Shanghai Scallion Noodles with Shrimp (China)

A tray with a dish of noodles topped with vegetables and pieces of shrimp. Next to it is a steamed bun with a filling, partially wrapped in white paper. Both dishes are placed on a bench outdoors, making for an exquisite Food & Wine experience.

The shrimp is chewy and tastes like it wasn’t microwaved long enough. The noodles are fine but not great.

#5 – Blackberry Caipiroska (Connections Eatery)

A plastic cup filled with a red iced beverage, topped with ice cubes and fresh strawberry slices, placed on a white surface, evokes the essence of summertime refreshment in Food & Wine.

This has a medicinal syrup taste that just gets worse as you continue drinking it. We hated it but bystanders thought it was okay.

#4 – Kielbasa and Potato Pierogies (Festival Favorites)

A serving of pierogies, topped with sour cream, chives, and browned meat pieces, placed on a paper tray—a mouthwatering dish that's perfect for any Food & Wine enthusiast.

These are gross and overcooked. There are only a few slices of flavorless kielbasa. Only the caramelized onions are edible.

#3 – Polpettine Toscane (Italy)

A plate with a breadstick, meatballs, and tomato sauce sits enticingly before you. Nearby is a dessert adorned with whipped cream and red sauce, completing this delightful Food & Wine experience.

This tastes like school lunchroom food. The sauce is overpowering. The meatballs are dry and overseasoned. The rosemary focaccia is serviceable.

Rank out of 7: 1

#2 – Hawaiian Rice Bowl (Hawaii)

A hand holding a bowl of rice topped with chunks of Spam, scrambled eggs, seaweed flakes, and a drizzle of sauce—a delightful Food & Wine experience in every bite.

The only thing we could taste in this dish was salt. The spam chunks were huge and gross.

#1 – Italian Style “Nachos” (Italy)

A container of nachos topped with meat and cheese sits next to a plate with meatballs and sauce, alongside a decadent dessert with strawberry sauce on a table illuminated by the sunlight—a perfect setting for enjoying Food & Wine.

Of course, Italy has the worst Food & Wine item this year and of course, it’s the “nachos.” Like the meatballs, this tasted like school taco meat. There aren’t enough nachos to account for the cost ($9.25) or balance the amount of meat. It looks gross and tastes gross.

The Best 7

#7 – Irish Milk Shake (Festival Favorites)

A clear glass labeled "IRELAND" with a shamrock design contains a creamy beverage topped with chocolate shavings, placed on a patterned surface. A part of a red Food & Wine booklet is partially visible in the background.

This is a smooth, rich, and creamy shake. You get a hint of Bailey’s and an underlying Guinness flavor. The chocolate flakes bring it all together. Plus, you get a souvenir cup.

#6 – Steakhouse Blended Burger (Flavors From Fire)

A cheeseburger with lettuce, cheese, and a fry on top, served on a sesame seed bun on a white plate placed on a red table—an irresistible delight that would grace any Food & Wine feature.

This is a phenomenal burger. It’s cooked perfectly with a mushroom-forward flavor that melds with the cheese for a luscious burger. The potato chip topping was fine but unnecessary. We appreciate the sesame seed bun.

#5 – Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich (Connections Eatery)

A plate with a fried chicken sandwich topped with sauce, served with French fries. A side of coleslaw and a pink beverage are visible in the background, perfect for a moment of indulgence from Food & Wine.

This is juicy with fantastic flavors. The sweet and savory played together well. The bun was fresh. This should be a permanent menu item and not just available during Food & Wine.

Rank out of 7: 7

#4 – Beer-Braised Beef served with Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes (Belgium)

A cardboard container holds a serving of hearty Belgian beef stew with carrots, peas, and mashed potatoes, garnished with chopped chives.

The Belgium booth has offered several solid options for years. This has ultra-tender beef. The gravy and mashed potatoes soak into each other well. We highly recommend it.

#3 – Filet Mignon with Mushrooms, Boursin Garlic and Fine Herbs Mashed Potatoes (Canada)

A black plate holds a portion of cooked steak, a serving of mashed potatoes, a serving of sautéed mushrooms, and a small serving of potato salad, reminiscent of hearty Canadian comfort food.

This filet mignon has been a star of the Canada booth and Food & Wine in general for years. The mashed potatoes are excellent, with a cheesy flavor. We wish there were more of them! The filet is perfectly cooked to medium with great flavor and quality. This dish honestly feels too good to be festival food.

#2 – Chocolate Amarula Mousse with White Chocolate (Refreshment Outpost)

A dome-shaped dessert with a yellow glaze and chocolate drizzle sits on a black plate against a metallic surface, embodying the elegance often featured in Food & Wine.

This is essentially a large Zebra Dome from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge but better. It’s a good size for a good price ($6.25) and has a delicious chocolate cookie as a base. It’s soft, moist, and sweet. Definitely check it out.

#1 – Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Sweet Potato Mousse with Candied Pecans and Maple Caramel Sauce (Swirled Showcase)

A hand holds a plate of dessert topped with caramel sauce and nuts, with greenery and a body of water in the background, embodying the perfect moment for indulging in Food & Wine.

It’s hard to explain but this is our favorite new item of the festival. It’s weird but excellent. It’s almost like a chunky pumpkin pie.
