More seating has been added to CommuniCore Hall, giving parkgoers more places to eat during the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
CommuniCore Hall Seating
If you’ve visited CommuniCore Hall since it reopened on August 29 for the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, you’ve surely noticed a lack of seats and tables available for diners. The space was bound to lose some dining tables, as it is home to the new Global Marketplace, Macatizers, for the duration of the festival. However, it lost even more to accommodate merchandise.
The above photo on the left shows how much seating was available before the location closed to prepare for Food & Wine. Tables were spread out around the space, rather than pushed against the wall. There were even couches along the walls. They are nowhere to be found at the moment.
The photo on the right is how it was set up when the festival began on August 29. The tables and couches were cleared out for merchandise racks.
With the Macatizers queue taking up a large amount of space and festival merchandise taking up space on the other side of the building, guests have been left with nowhere to sit to enjoy their food. Diners picking up food from Macatizers have been forced to fight for tables with diners from the permanent Festival Favorites location just outside and other booths around the park.
Now, more tables and chairs have popped up inside the location, even though the seating arrangements are still sparse. The merchandise has been moved away from the walls, and four-top tables have been added.
When we reviewed CommuniCore Hall after it opened in June, we discussed how the space was “functionality over form.” While it wasn’t pretty to look at, it would at least provide a nice air-conditioned space for guests to relax and enjoy food and drinks during festivals. However, if guests can’t find seating during one of the biggest festivals of the year, then the functionality of the space certainly comes into question.
The additional seating recently added to CommuniCore Hall is a step in the right direction, though Disney should probably add a little more.
