The International Food & Wine Festival started on August 29, 2024, with The Muppets Brew-Wing Lab in the Odyssey featuring a new and fun photo op that has now been removed less than 72 hours since it opened to guests.
Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey
Last year at the International Food & Wine Festival, Disney debuted the Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey. It’s here that the iconic and viral pickle milkshake returns along with some spicy wings.
The Odyssey has always been a hit with guests as it offers lots of seating in an airconditioned space, which is very hard to come by in the parks in general and much more difficult during a festival. Adding The Muppets only made the space that much more popular.
Here is the view of The Muppets Lab featuring Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker on the center screen on the far wall. Last year, there was never a photo op set up under the screen, rather there was just open floor space for guests to sit or explore the room.
This year there was a very detailed photo op set up under the screen so guests could get shots of themselves helping out in The Muppets Brew-Wing Lab. Unfortunately, after many reports of unsupervised children throwing props and just destroying the set, Disney has removed the photo op entirely just days after the festival began.
Here’s a closer look at what we have lost. All that remains of the photo op is the spotlight, a quiet reminder for the very few guests who got to see and enjoy this enhancement. Disney is a place to have fun, but it is very important to still be respectful and leave things the way they are found so other guests can enjoy them in the future.
Luckily, The Odyssey is still open for guests to enjoy the same decor as last year. There is also new merchandise featuring The Muppets exclusive to the Food & Wine Festival.
