The limited-time Snowy Mooncake dessert has arrived at EPCOT, joining the menu at the China Global Marketplace for the 2024 International Food & Wine Festival. Of course, we had to make our way around the World Showcase for a review.

A food kiosk with a sign reading "China" features a tiled roof and wooden shutters. It has beverage dispensers and seating inside, set against a partly cloudy sky. As part of EPCOT's Food & Wine Festival, it offers delights like the Snowy Mooncake for visitors to enjoy.

The Global Marketplace is located in the China pavilion at EPCOT.

We like it, especially for its unique sweetness! It’s not too sugary but still maintains a sweet flavor. It’s made of flour and is a bit chewy, but not as chewy as mochi.

The custard filling is not like your traditional American custard. It has a powdery texture and is reminiscent of Japanese white bean paste. The red sauce is the same strawberry sauce often used at the China Global Marketplace for past festivals, such as with the Sesame Balls with Red Bean Paste from the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.

Overall, we would highly recommend this treat! It is sweet, but won’t make your teeth hurt. The Snowy Mooncake is a light, refreshing dessert, perfect for the Florida heat.

This treat is only available from September 8-21 in celebration of the Moon Festival, so don’t wait to go try it!

This dessert has been added to the China Global Marketplace menu to celebrate the country’s Moon Festival (aka the Mooncake Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival), a harvest celebration meant to mark the end of the harvest season.

  1. My husband and I had it day one of availability. He’s a former chef and I’m a former dood scientist and moon Cakes are a favorite for us. I’ve had them most of my life. First time for a snowskin moon Cake. The rice skin was definitely not as chewy as mochi, a disappointment for me. The filling in ours was thick like pudding but clearly an instant pudding taste. It was not that gritty, play doh, consistency typically found in moon Cakes.
