Walt Disney World Cancels Select Tours, Miniature Golf Courses to Close Ahead of Hurricane Helene

Walt Disney World has announced more closures and cancelations as Hurricane Helene approaches the state of Florida.

According to the Walt Disney World website, the following tours and Enchanting Extras Collection offerings are canceled for Thursday, September 26:

  • Savor the Savanna
  • Up Close with Rhinos
  • Walking with Giants
  • Wild Africa Trek

In addition, Fantasia Gardens and Fairways and Winter Summerland miniature golf courses will be closed on Thursday.

At this time, the pools at Disney Resort hotels will continue to operate under normal conditions.

Walt Disney World announced earlier today that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park would close on Thursday. The Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party scheduled for September 26 has also been canceled.

Hurricane Helene strengthened from tropical storm status earlier this morning and is expected to hit Florida as a Major Category 3 storm on Thursday, with much of the brunt affecting the Big Bend of the state. Central Florida can expect some severe weather associated with tropical storms, including torrential rain and high winds.
