After its soft opening on December 16, 1994, ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter terrified Magic Kingdom guests every day it was operational until its permanent closure on October 12, 2003. More than 20 years later, a new play will take Disney fans down memory lane with a new parody of the defunct attraction.

The play is called “Alien Encounter,” and it was created by Adam Franklin and Amit Itelman. And for those of you who think going to the show will be nothing but fun, there is a warning attached to the performances. It’s as follows:

AUDIENCES WILL BE COVERED IN BLOOD, DRESS ACCORDINGLY

The show will be performed at the Titmouse Warehouse in Hollywood on select dates throughout October. When asked what audiences should expect from the new show, Itelman said the following:

They will experience 25 minutes of being face to face with a ferocious flesh-eating extra-terrestrial whose only instinct is to release carnage upon this planet Earth.

The “Alien Encounter” storyline will parody the original Magic Kingdom attraction. The show will begin with an alien being transported to the same room as the audience where it breaks free and wreaks havoc.

Itelman says that the show will be an “original production and a total retelling of the original concept.” He said the following when asked why he was inspired to create the project.

We just love the insanity of what Disney attempted, and their concept was so fun. It was so totally inappropriate for Disney Parks, but so very appropriate for Trepany House.

The show will perform at 8:00 p.m. PDT on the following dates:

  • October 4
  • October 5
  • October 11
  • October 12
  • October 18
  • October 19
  • October 25
  • October 26
  • October 30
  • October 31
