The previously reported replica head of the beloved worrywart Protocol Droid, C-3PO, has arrived at Disneyland Resort.
WDWNT reader Christian.Bettinelli on Instagram spotted the head on display and for sale at Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney and shared their photos with us.
C-3PO Replica Head – $119.99
The head appears to be 1:1 scale with the on-screen character, performed by Anthony Daniels. The head is gold with two bulb-eyes behind metal grates.
The electronic replica can recite over twenty phrases from the “Star Wars” saga. His eyes can also light up.
The product box indicates that the head is part of the Galactic Archive Series line of merchandise. Other products in this series include the Dejarik Board Game and the D23 exclusive Kylo Ren Reforged Helmet.
The side of the box suggests that the gold plating can be removed from the head to reveal the wiring and mechanics inside C-3P0, reminiscent of his appearance in “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.” One of these wires can be moved to bypass C-3PO’s protocol and allow him to translate forbidden Sith secrets like in “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker.” While in this mode, his eyes will glow red instead of the usual yellow.
This replica head will be available on DisneyStore.com starting October 16. It will be a limited-edition collectible with only 3,720 being sold. It should also be available in Walt Disney World soon.
