PHOTO REPORT: Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure 10/25/2024 (HHN 2024 Sale, Duff Beer, and Seuss Christmas)

Heya from another day on Universal property. Halloween Horror Nights merchandise is on sale, Duff Beer has a refillable bottle sling, and Seuss Landing now has Christmas decor.

Universal Orlando Resort

Entrance sign reading "Welcome to Universal Orlando Resort" with people walking below it.

It was a packed morning today at Universal Orlando. It is a Friday so usually today marks the beginning of a busy weekend. The weather was stunning. There was nothing but blue skies, and honestly I wore a light jacket until the afternoon.

Halloween Horror Nights Merchandise Sale

Store interior displaying Halloween-themed merchandise on sale, with a sign promoting a 50% discount on select items.

In the Universal Store in City Walk the sale of Halloween Horror Nights merchandise has reached 50%! If you are local or visiting very soon now is the best time to purchase all your Lil’ Boo merchandise.

If you aren’t sure if you would want any of it check out our extensive list of all the HHN merchandise from this year. Keep in mind not everything is still available, but there is quite a lot left so chances are pretty good.

Universal Studios Florida

People walking toward the entrance of a theme park with palm trees and a clear blue sky.

I started my day with the original park, Universal Studios Florida, to check on the status of the Hello Kitty statue and honestly I wasn’t ready to walk to Islands of Adventure. Maybe it’s just me but it feels weird starting in Islands of Adventure. I love that park, but the original park sets the tone for me.

Future ‘Wicked’ Shop

A storefront with bright green accents and a character statue in a pink dress standing outside with plants nearby.

Inside I was sad to see that not much progress has been made to the shop since our last visit. Even more upsetting was seeing a very bland flowerbed in the place where a great statue of Hello Kitty once stood. Luckily to brighten my morning Hello Kitty herself imerged! She was so incredibly sweet.

The Simpsons

Signs and merchandise from a fictional burger and beer brand, featuring colorful designs and cartoon imagery.

I have a confession. I love The Simpsons. I grew up watching the show with my Uncle and it has a special place in my heart because of that. I can’t see anything in this land without thinking, “oh he needs that.” Today I saw Universal now has a Duff Beer drink carrier featuring the Duff Man on the back. This bag is available in the Kwik-E-Mart for $16.00.

I wanted to get a Krusty Burger but it was still too early in the day for all that, plus we still have a whole park left to walk and those burgers are thick.

Butterbeer in Diagon Alley

A grand fountain in front of a historic building and a hand holding a cup of butterbeer from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Sometimes you have to treat yourself, this is one of those times. Being in the parks so much I try really hard to save my pennies on the things that really bring me joy. Since I recently started covering Universal I thought I should brush up on my Butterbeer thoughts. It is still very good. I prefer the frozen option over the regular, but neither are bad. Be sure you bring your toothbrush because it is very sweet.

Villain Era

A hand holds a Villain-Con International card in front of a building with animated character posters and a crowd of people.

I joined the Villains at Villain-Con International this morning so now I am officially in my villain era. Watch out! These customizable cards are availble in the gift shop exit of Villain-Con Minion Blast for $10.00.

Islands of Adventure

People walking towards an entrance marked "The Adventure Begins" surrounded by lush greenery and palm trees under a bright blue sky.

Honestly with Halloween Horror Nights wrapping up for the year Universal altogether is pretty chill. I decided to go to Islands to see if any more Christmas decor had popped up and boy has it. All of Islands of Adventure the stores and restaurants all have some Christmas trees, garland, and wreathes.

My last photo report from Universal detailed some of the decor found previously.

Dr. Seuss Christmas Decor

A store display with Dr. Seuss-themed holiday decorations, including a Grinch statue, Dr. Seuss character ornaments, wreaths, and Christmas trees.

It’s HAPPENING! Grinchmas is upon us and I couldn’t be happier. The only holiday that gets me more stoked than Halloween is Christmas. How can you be upset when theirs shiny garland and fun colors gleaming everywhere. AND OH MY GOSH there is nothing cuter than little Max, the Grinch’s dog, wearing his Reindeer antlers.

Oh the Stories You’ll Hear Show

Characters in colorful costumes, including two in red outfits labeled "Thing 1" and "Thing 2," pose with a person in a hat at an outdoor theme park.

In Suess Landing throughout the day there is a show featuring The Storyteller, Grinch, Thing 1 and Thing 2, Cat in the Hat, Sam, and maybe even the Lorax will make an appearance if you’re lucky! This is a really fun show for little guys and also any nostalgic Dr. Seuss fan. You can check for showtimes on the Universal App.

THANK YOU!

Entrance area of Universal Orlando Resort with people walking and signage for parking and transportation options. Clear blue sky above.

Thank you for coming along with me on my adventures through Universal Orlando Resort. It’s still so wild to be covering a park not associated with Disney, but I am digging the new experience and I hope you are too. Let me know if there is anything you really enjoy from Universal parks or movies. I would love to read them!

I hope you enjoyed the day at Universal. Are you excited for Grinchmas this year? Or are you a Halloween Horror Nights-only kinda Universal fan? Let me know in the comments below and on social media.
