Guests visiting Hogsmeade during the 2024 holiday season can see Hogwarts transformed during “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” projection show.
‘The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle’
The projection show happens periodically starting at dusk in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure. It will take place each evening from November 22 through December 31, the official holiday season at Universal Orlando Resort.
The show opens with ghostly carolers before snow appears to fall. Harry’s snowy owl, Hedwig, flies across the castle.
Floating lanterns dance across Hogwarts. A wizard on a broomstick then flies through the lanterns before summoning giant snowmen. They are promptly destroyed by the flying Ford Anglia.
The lanterns go out and magical specks of gold form a Christmas tree on the largest tower. The tree changes to blue, spreading the icy color across the castle.
The Yule Ball then plays out across the walls, with Hermione Granger and Viktor Krum dancing together.
The dance is interrupted by the Weasley twins flying around the castle, conjuring giant banners advertising their joke shop wares. Projected fireworks go off.
For the final act, streaks of gold and white light form the Christmas tree again. Spotlights wave as gold light spreads around the tower and the music crescendos. The Weasleys send a few real fireworks into the air.

Hogsmeade is also decorated with garlands, wreaths, and other Christmas décor for the season. The land’s snow-covered rooftops are a year-round feature.
