The robotic arm photo op at Disney Jollywood Nights puts guests into a scene from “The Muppets Christmas Carol.”
‘The Muppets Christmas Carol’ Robotic Arm Photo Op
This exclusive photo op is in Stage 1 Company Store, the former Muppet*Vision 3D gift shop in Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The store has been decorated with Christmas lights. It’s also where guests can get exclusive Jollywood Nights merchandise.
The backdrop resembles a snowy London street with two windows featuring silhouettes of Gonzo, Rizzo, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, and Beaker in their “Muppets Christmas Carol” attire. There’s a director’s chair for Tiny Tim.
Guests stand in front of a lamppost with a wreath. Props include a crate full of rubber chickens. The robotic arm camera moves around in front of guests, filming an approximately 15-second video.
Similar to last year’s photo op, there are two options for the video that guests must choose from: Snow-Glo or Warm & Fozzie. With Snow-Glo, the camera moves in and then pulls back, producing a slow-motion video. The Warm & Fozzie video is at regular speed, with the camera moving all around, spinning, and then panning up — plus a cameo from Fozzie. Both videos feature festive music and end with a snowy Disney Jollywood Nights graphic.
Previews of both video options are shown on a screen in the photo op queue and you can watch them in our embedded video below.
Here’s how one of our videos turned out!
In addition to the Muppets photo op, the multi-camera array photo op has returned to the Disney Studio Store in Animation Courtyard. There are also special character meet and greets throughout the park. All digital PhotoPass downloads from the event are included with an event ticket. Photos can be downloaded up to 45 days after capture.
Check out the Disney Jollywood Nights 2024 map. The after-hours, specially ticketed Disney’s Hollywood Studios event is on select nights through December 21.
