This evening, guests were treated to a preview of “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel”, a day ahead of the opening of Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park. Performances are set to take place on weekdays between November 15th, 2024 and January 6th, 2025. Performances are currently scheduled at 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:45 PM, 8:45 PM and 9:45 PM.

This new nighttime show gathers friends and families to listen to heartfelt stories and timeliness songs in an enchanting celebration of the holidays. Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland, accompanied by graceful dancers, delivers intimate, bilingual performances of beloved Christmas songs.

Mariachi Alegría dazzles on a decorated stage as musicians play guitars, trumpets, and violins. Dressed in traditional outfits and sombreros, they captivate the audience during the lively Festival of Holidays.

The performers enter from the gates near the entrance of Hollywood Land, then proceed down the street and all the way around Carthay Circle, into their positions both on the stage and in front of it.

A colorful street performance unfolds during the Festival of Holidays with dancers in traditional costumes, accompanied by the lively tunes of Mariachi Alegría, captivating a crowd on the palm-lined avenue.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because this is the stage that Five & Dime uses for their regular daily performances. If you wish to see this show with the best possible view, we recommend getting there very early, at least in the show’s current iteration. The first preview performance could be characterized as something of an operation nightmare, so it will be interesting to see if this show remains in its current spot, or is forced to move to an area with less traffic. Despite the operational headaches, the show is really beautiful, and packed with very talented performers, from the mariachi band to the singers, to the dancers.

Performers in colorful traditional outfits dance and play instruments in a festive outdoor setting at night, capturing the vibrant spirit of the Festival of Holidays.

The show features several holiday staples performed in English and Spanish, from ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ to ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. Finally, Miguel from ‘Coco’ shows up for his rousing rendition of ‘Un Poco Loco’. Miguel then stays, as young guests are welcomed to come into the show and hold candles (or electric versions of candles) for a beautiful performance of ‘Silent Night’. The show ends on a more upbeat note, inviting children to dance along to ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ before the performers depart.

A vibrant group in colorful traditional attire brings Mariachi Alegría to life, performing outdoors under the starlit sky for an enthralled audience during the Festival of Holidays.

It is expected that Mariachi Alegría will be a regular act for the Disneyland Resort moving forward. Previously, Disney California Adventure was home Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas, who have not performed in the park since 2022.
