Jonny Coyne will reprise his role as an Imperial warlord from “The Mandalorian” in the film “The Mandalorian & Grogu.”
Jonny Coyne Returning for ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’
Coyne appeared as the unnamed warlord in “The Mandalorian” episode 7, season 3 (“Chapter 23: The Spies”). The character was only seen as a hologram, appearing as a member of the Shadow Council meeting with Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). Coyne’s warlord expresses interest in “plundering the hyperspace lanes” and Captain Gilad Pellaeon says his “hit and run operations are gaining too much notice.”
Coyne is repped by Greene Talent, Trademark Talent, and Accelerate Management. His credits include “The Family Plan,” “Bodies,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “Nightcrawler,” “Beirut,” “Preacher,” “The Blacklist,” and “Alcatraz” (pictured).
We recently learned Jeremy Allen White would portray Jabba the Hutt’s son in the “Star Wars” film. Pedro Pascal portrays the titular Mandalorian alongside Grogu, who is brought to life by a team of puppeteers and effects artists. Sigourney Weaver was also cast in an undisclosed role. Footage shown at D23 also included Zeb Orrelios, one of the main characters of “Star Wars Rebels” who made a brief cameo in “The Mandalorian.” Zeb is voiced by Steve Blum.
“The Mandalorian” creator Jon Favreau directs the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dave Filoni. It will be in theaters on May 22, 2026.
