Disney released a new teaser trailer for the live-action “Lilo & Stitch” remake that references the original film’s trailers.
‘Lilo & Stitch’ Teaser Trailer
The teaser, below, opens with clips from the live-action “Mufasa: The Lion King,” in theaters this Friday. Text reads, “Long Live The King.” Hands then lift Stitch into the air, like Rafiki lifting Simba.
The original teaser trailers for the animated “Lilo & Stitch” (2002) featured Stitch crashing other classic Disney animated films, including “The Lion King.” In one of the original teasers, below, Stitch is lifted by Rafiki instead of Simba.
There were also teasers featuring Stitch in “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and “The Little Mermaid.”
The live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” will be crashing into theaters on May 23, 2025. It stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Agudong as Nani, Zach Galifianakis as Jumba, Billy Magnussen as Pleakley, Kaipo Dudoit as David, Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, and Hannah Waddingham as the Grand Councilwoman. Tia Carrere, the original voice of Nani, is a new social worker character named Mrs. Kekoa. Amy Hill, who voiced Mrs. Hasagawa in “Lilo & Stitch: The Series,” is Tūtū, David’s grandmother. And Jason Scott Lee, the original voice of David, is the lūʻau manager.
Chris Sanders, the co-director and co-writer of the original animated “Lilo & Stitch, reprises his voice role as Stitch.
Live-action “Lilo & Stitch” is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (“Marcel the Shell With Shoes On”) from a screenplay by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright. It’s executive produced by Louie Provost, Tom Peitzman, and Ryan Halprin, with Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin as producers.
