Today marks the grand opening of the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and we were lucky enough to be staying in a 2-bedroom lock off villa with a theme park view. Let’s take a look around what is sure to be one of the most popular hotel rooms in all of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Deluxe Studio Side
Being a lock off two-bedroom villa, the entire hotel room is composed of what could also be a Deluxe Studio and a 1-Bedroom Villa. We’ll start in the Deluxe Studio.
Of course the bathroom is just off of the entry. It is sealed off with a sliding barn door.
The vanity has 2 mirrors, 1 sink, an illuminated makeup mirror, and some open shelf space.
The bathroom also includes a shower with a sizable seat/ledge and the toilet behind a opaque glass door.
The shower is a good size and features a rain shower head above and a handheld shower head at your disposal.
The toilet room offers little privacy as the door does not reach the ceiling and does not lock.
Now we proceed to the closet.
Inside you’ll find room to hang clothes, hampers, a safe, extra bedding, and a luggage rack.
Now we move on to the living room and kitchenette.
There is an additional luggage storage space next to the closet, with a cubby underneath.
A bench and charging ports surround a small table.
The pattern looks like stonework, including an homage to the Hidden Mickey from the lobby floor of the Polynesian Village Resort.
A mural resides along the wall, running behind the TV.
The kitchenette is located just behind the bathroom.
There is a small dishwasher in the Deluxe Studio.
There is a Keurig coffee maker that features the ability to make either a pot or a pod.
The sofa is also a pull-down Murphy Bed.
The exterior art features the natural elements of the Polynesian isles, with wildlife and natural elements.
Different art is revealed when the bed is lowered.
Upon closer inspection, we can find many of the characters from Moana scattered around Te Fiti, icluding Moana, Pua, Maui, Hei Hei, and Tamatoa.
The primary bed is lifted high off the ground to allow for additional storage. A small rug surrounds the bed and the headboard features padding.
A desk and dresser reside beside and below the television.
There is some propping (glued down of course), including a shell and framed photograph of Moana on her outrigger.
A thematic stool is tucked under the desk. You can also see a number of charging ports residing on the desk lamp.
The curtain features birds flying above a Polynesian art design featuring Hidden Mickeys.
Both sides of the bed feature an end table with charging ports.
We now proceed out to the patio.
We had a fifth floor room with a beautiful view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom.
Cinderella Castle resides in the distance beyond the Wedding Pavilion and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
To the right we have view of the bungalows at the Polynesian Village Resort.
Now we’ll move over to the other side of the 2-bedroom villa, what could also be the 1-bedroom villa.
1-Bedroom Side
At the entrance, there’s some three dimensional art of leaf-shaped fan.
Right off of the entry is the dining room.
A dimensional piece of art representing a manta ray can be found above the table. Disney has previously shared the meaning of all the many marking on this art piece.
There are charging ports on either side of the booth seating.
A washer and dryer can be found behind the art at the entrance.
There’s a closet on the way to the bathroom as well.
The closet contains extra bedding, an iron and ironing board, a safe, and a luggage rack.
The bathroom off of the kitchen features a toilet and a shower.
There’s of course a vanity with a sink and mirror.
This shower is different from the others as it is mostly black with some art elements.
There is a full kitchen with an oven, stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker.
A number of shelves surround the TV and a smaller Murphy Bed can be found underneath.
Across you’ll find a couch, table, stools, and a charging station.
There are various props attached to the shelves.
Underneath a shell there’s a fake book titled “Secrets of the Seven Seas Lagoon”, a reference to the nearby body of water.
Underneath a picture of a boat, you’ll find a reference to the Polynesian Resort’s original counter service restaurant with “Tales from Tangaroa Terrace”.
There’s also a potted faux plant.
The table has wheels to be easily rolled away, but the stools do not have this feature.
Opening the Murphy Bed reveals some unique art.
If you look closely, you’ll find Tamatoa battling with Moana and Maui.
On the larger Murphy Bed, there’s art of Polynesian wildlife with a Disney touch.
Cinderella Castle can be seen across the lagoon, just as it can from the Polynesian Resort.
There are a number of outlets located in the shelf next to this bed and above the couch.
Here is what the Murphy Bed looks like when folded down.
The art inside shows a manta ray soaring above Moana and her outrigger in front of an island. There is a pair of whales below in the water.
The primary bedroom lies just beyond the living room and kitchen.
The spacious room features a bed, end tables, a dresser, closet, full-length mirror, and a big screen TV.
The primary bedroom also has its own private bathroom with a tub, shower, and toilet.
A mural is located just above the bed’s headboard. There are hanging lamps on both sides of the bed, as well as charging ports and reading lights.
There is additional storage space under the bed.
A small closet resides next to the TV and dresser.
End tables have three small drawers each.
The primary bedroom’s bathroom is quite large and features a beautiful tile mural with a central art piece hanging above the bathtub.
The art features wildlife and natural features of the islands.
The opposite wall features a set of vanities split by the doorway. The sliding barn door does lock.
The shower is similar to the first we showcased, but seems slightly larger and the shelf is on the left instead of against the back wall.
The toilet room features artwork.
The Heart of Te Fiti can be seen hidden within the art featuring a stone pattern.
The curtain in this room features sea life, but again has the art with the Hidden Mickeys below.
The one-bedroom villa side features a much wider balcony with two sets of doors to access it.
Here you’ll find four more chairs and two more tables.
The views are stunning.
