During the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade” special, Disney Cruise Line shared a preview of the Disney Destiny, including a first look at the ship’s Spider-Man stern character under construction.

It’s tradition for Disney Cruise Line to have a different larger-than-life character figure on the stern of each ship. The character is often depicted as painting the ship’s name. Concept art released a few months ago shows the Disney Destiny will have Spider-Man catching Spider-Bots while they try to paint a web around the wordmark.

Three people work on a large humanoid sculpture in a workshop, reminiscent of a Spider-Man figure. One person is on a ladder adjusting the creation. The workshop, filled with ductwork and tables, has an ABC logo in the corner.

The ABC special showed construction crew members working on the Spider-Man figure. This gives a good idea of the figure’s scale, which is much larger than a real human but will look life-size to guests gazing up at the ship. Sculptors placed different elements of Spidey together and appeared to be working on the finer details of the figure. He was not yet painted.

The Disney Destiny maiden voyage leaves from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on November 20, 2025.
