Crews have installed paneling on the exterior of the Universal Studios Store expansion in Universal CityWalk Orlando.

The expansion is under construction in the former Cinnabon and Quiet Flight Surf Shop. The stores were completely gutted soon after they permanently closed in the spring. By October, crews had installed the framework of a new facade. Much of that framework has now been filled in with plywood and black paneling. This includes plywood in the entryway closest to the current store. The entrance archway also has a steel framework within its white supports.

Paneling was removed from around the elevator between construction zones. Yellow DerGlass sheathing is now exposed. The elevator remains open and operational during construction.

A crew member in a scissor lift was working on a marquee above this section of the facade. A horizontal framework juts out from the roof and the crew member was installing small vertical pieces.

Universal Orlando Resort announced the Universal Studios Store expansion in September. It will include a new “Harry Potter” section offering Butterbeer, a new Super Nintendo World section, and Epic Universe merchandise, which guests can currently find at the nearby Epic Universe preview center.
