New walls have been erected around the entire “it’s a small world” building facade, as the attraction is now closed for what is anticipated to be a lengthy refurbishment. No exact reopening date for “it’s a small world” has been announced, but it is expected to return sometime in the spring.

The walls blocking the attraction are grey with blue stripes. Ornate lanterns have been attached to several of the walls in order to provide additional light at night.

Small signs featuring the official wordmark and art from the attraction are posted on several of the walls. The signs say “Our Musical Voyage Resumes this Spring.”

“it’s a small world” already closed for a lengthy refurbishment from September to November of 2024. During that time, the ride was repaired and the seasonal “it’s a small world” Holiday overlay was added.

A festive sign with "Happy Holidays! It's a Small World" in colorful letters is surrounded by whimsical decorations, towers, and trees in the background, capturing the enchanting charm of Disneyland's magical landscape.

It is normal for “it’s a small world” to close for a short period in the beginning of January as the Holiday overlay is removed. However, the closure was pushed back this year to wait until the seasonal Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay was removed and the Haunted Mansion resumed regular operations. This closure is also much longer than the standard closure for removing the overlay, so it is expected that additional repairs are being made to the attraction during this extended downtime.

On the other side of Disneyland Park, the Haunted Mansion recently reopened in its normal, non-Holiday format with several new updates, including a new Bride and updated projections.
