A new cavalcade debuted at the Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite event.
Sweethearts’ Cavalcade

This year’s “Sweethearts’ Cavalcade” is new and replaces the former “Royal Cavalcade” that took place during last year’s event. The song “True to Your Heart” by 98 Degrees from the film “Mulan” plays during the cavalcade replacing the stock music used last year. There were also three new Disney couples featured who were not a part of last year’s cavalcade.

The cavalcade begins with six dancers leading the way in front of the float. Staying in theme with the event, they wear festive outfits of red and pink.

In the new cavalcade, the couples are all together on one float rather than being carried by horse-drawn carriages as they were in last year’s Royal Cavalcade. The float is decorated with flowers and candles. A large crystal chandelier-like structure is featured at the top of the float. Eagle-eyed viewers may recognize the float from A Christmas Fantasy.

Mulan and Shang stand together on the front steps of the float dancing and waving to guests.

As the float passed by, we caught a glimpse of Anna and Kristoff smiling at one another while holding hands. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider were on the opposite side waving to guests.

Meg and Hercules were featured on the back stairs of the float.

Four additional dancers followed behind the float and wore outfits similar to those at the front.
Some couples who were featured in last year’s cavalcade did not return this year including Cinderella and Prince Charming, Jasmine and Aladdin, Aurora and Phillip, and Lady Tremaine with Anastasia and Drizella.
