One of the many new entrance signs being installed at Universal Orlando Resort is now visible to guests, though the screens don’t show what concept art advertised just yet.

New Universal Orlando Resort Entrance Sign

The Universal Orlando entrance sign, surrounded by lush greenery and towering palm trees, stands prominently at the corner of Vineland Road.

The newly activated sign is located at Universal Boulevard and Vineland Road. Unlike its predecessor, the rectangles on either side of the Universal Resort logo are made of LED screens. When we passed by, the screens were showing a galaxy with shooting stars zooming by.

These galaxy images being shown on the screens are different from what was presented in the original concept art. In the art, the screens were used to highlight images from different film franchises present at Universal Orlando Resort including Jurassic World, Harry Potter, and Dreamworks characters. It’s possible that these images will not cycle on the screens until all new signs are activated.

The new sign near Vineland Road is part of a resort-wide update for the roads around Universal Orlando. The original signs were blue and silver and featured the previous wordmark for the resort.

The Universal Orlando Resort sign at the Vineland Road Entrance features a striking blue and gold design, beautifully framed by palm trees and lush landscaped greenery.

Other digital signs using this same shape are being constructed at the corner of Epic Boulevard and Destination Parkway, as well as Universal Boulevard and Hollywood Way. The one near Epic Boulevard has had its scrim removed for a while, though its screens have not been activated.

Other recent updates at Universal Orlando have included adding the new road sign for the recently-opened Stella Nova resort and adding digital screens to the parking garage.
