REVIEW: Strawberry Sugar Churro Returns to Disneyland Park for Valentine’s Day 2025

Gretchen McDermid

Just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day in 2025, the Strawberry Churro has returned to carts across Disneyland Park once again. We found the returning item at multiple carts, including the churro cart near Sleeping Beauty Castle and the cart near Town Square.

Strawberry Sugar Churro – $6.50

Strawberry-Flavored Sugar

A hand holds a long churro with a cup of dipping sauce, while people stand in the background on a brick and concrete surface.

The strawberry churro comes by itself, but a chocolate marshmallow dipping sauce can be purchased for an additional $1.50. For the sake of our review, we tried both.

The churro smells more than it tastes of strawberry; we could smell the fragrance of strawberry while holding the churro an arm’s-length away. The taste is not of real or even artificial strawberry, but rather the feeling of the strong scent hitting your taste buds. We wouldn’t describe the flavor as entirely unpleasant, but not what we were expecting.

We also purchased the additional chocolate marshmallow dipping sauce. Instead of being chocolate sauce with marshamllow chunks, or marshmallow sauce with a chocolate drizzle, this sauce is literally a combination of thick marshmallow and chocolate flavoring mixed together.

We genuinely enjoyed the sauce more than the churro itself. The chocolate flavoring is not a super sweet milk chocolate, but a darker flavor reminiscent of hot chocolate powder. The darker chocolate mixes well with the sweeter marshmallow to create a wonderfully gooey dipping sauce. We would love to get this sauce with a regular churro so we could experience it without the fake strawberry scent getting in the way. If this review were solely for the sauce, it would get a 6.
