All DinoLand U.S.A. Carnival Games Seemingly Demolished at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

All of the Fossil Fun Games in DinoLand U.S.A. have seemingly been demolished as the Disney’s Animal Kingdom land is turned into a new Tropical Americas area.

DinoLand U.S.A. Demolition

A tall green dinosaur figure peeks out from behind a green construction fence, surrounded by trees and a curved road, reminiscent of the whimsical atmosphere found in DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Though we can’t see the entirety of the former Dino-Rama carnival space over the construction walls, no more Fossil Fun Games are visible. In our last construction update, we noticed the Comet Crasher game was gone but the Mammoth Marathon game remained standing. Mammoth Marathon is no longer visible.

This is the full list of former carnival game booths at Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama:

  • Whac-A-Packycephalosaur
  • Fossil Fueler
  • Mammoth Marathon
  • Comet Crasher
  • Bronto-Score

At the back of Dino-Rama, crew members were working along the tree line. The crew members were actually outside of the fenced-off construction site.

The new “Encanto” ride will be somewhere in this area.

In an outdoor scene at Disney's Animal Kingdom, a colorful, spaceship-like structure sits within a fenced-off area. Surrounded by trees and green construction barriers, the setting captures the whimsy often found near DinoLand U.S.A., blending fantasy with adventure.

From The Boneyard, we only saw piles of debris and construction materials where the carnival games used to be.

At the near edge of the construction site, crews have started tearing down the queue of TriceraTop Spin. Parts of the shade structure have been torn off.

Demolition of the structure is more evident on the end facing Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures.

Themed paneling is gone from this end, revealing the steel framework beneath.

People stroll past a construction site with green barriers, while a colorful, UFO-shaped structure reminiscent of something from Disney's Animal Kingdom rises in the background. Trees tower under the cloudy sky, giving the area an adventurous vibe akin to DinoLand U.S.A.

Though paneling was removed from TriceraTop Spin early during construction, the ride is still mostly intact. An excavator is parked nearby, where Dino-Rama sign used to be.

The construction site, set in Disney's Animal Kingdom, features green barriers encircling an amusement park ride. Colorful structures and adjacent small buildings add vibrancy, while trees and an overcast sky provide a muted backdrop reminiscent of DinoLand U.S.A.'s charm.

The Dinosaur Treasures buildings remain intact and are not planned for demolition; in concept art, the venue is shown as a new shop. Tire planters even still sit outside the gift shop. The World’s Largest Pin Truck is also still parked outside.

DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, Trilo-Bites, and The Boneyard all remain open in DinoLand. These are expected to close permanently in about one year.

Tropical Americas

A detailed scale model of an amusement park, inspired by Pueblo Esperanza, features various rides, buildings, and extensive landscaping with trees and greenery. A path meanders through the model, connecting different vibrant areas.

The new Tropical Americas land will feature the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza. Near the front of the land will be a carousel featuring wood-carved Disney animals. Restaurantosaurus will become a hacienda.

An animated group of characters, surrounded by animals and glowing lights, stands on a forest stage in Disney's Animal Kingdom while an audience watches.

The “Encanto” ride will take guests into Casita on the day Antonio receives his gift of talking to animals. The ride’s story will go beyond the movie but guests will see characters like Mirabel and Bruno. The vehicles will be furniture brought to life by the magic of Casita.

A person with a torch approaches an ancient, glowing artifact inside a cave. Nearby, people in a vehicle point flashlights towards the artifact. The scene is filled with mystery and ancient symbols, reminiscent of an Indiana Jones adventure through the hidden wonders of the animal kingdom.

DINOSAUR will be reimagined into an Indiana Jones ride. Though DINOSAUR has a nearly identical track to Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland, the Tropical Americas ride will have a new story set in a Mayan temple.

The “Encanto” and Indiana Jones rides will open in 2027.
