The area used for Butterfly Landing during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is now surrounded by green scrim, indicating that prep work has begun for this offering to return.
Butterfly Landing In Progress

This area along the walkway between Journey Into Imagination with Figment and the World Showcase has been the site for Butterfly Landing at past festivals, including 2024. Green scrim now lines the length of the space.
The scrim extends along the side of the enclosure leaving only the back retaining wall open. Flags marking site points dot the ground for use by workers in setting up the attraction. In past years, this scrim going up indicates prep work in the area for the attraction ahead of the annual festival.
The green scrim blocks the view for ground-level guests as they pass the site.

The scrim extends back from the walkway on the World Showcase side blocking any view of the work being done.
Butterfly Landing gives kids and adults a chance to see a variety of butterfly species up close, an opportunity to learn about the life of a insect, and a walk through a colorful garden in an enclosed area where butterflies fly freely.
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival runs from March 5 to June 2 this year. The popular event presents complex topiaries, the Garden Rocks concert series, food booths, and special showcases like Butterfly Landing.
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival debuted in 1994 for 38 days with a small garden display and a few Disney topiaries. Since that time, it has grown to a multi-month festival with increasingly elaborate topiary designs on display each year.
The success of the Flower & Garden Festival led to the creation of the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival in 1996 and the International Festival of the Arts in 2017. The EPCOT Holidays Around the World celebration began in 1996 and was renamed the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays in 2016. With four festivals each year, only the summer period sees EPCOT run without a special event for more than a couple of weeks.
