The Red Car Trolley has taken its final ride through Disney California Adventure. The last day of operations was February 8, 2025.

A red streetcar labeled "Hollywood" and "Buena Vista St" glides through Disney California Adventure. Characters in costumes mingle with the crowd, as colorful lights and buildings paint the nighttime scene, capturing the magic of its final ride on the Red Car Trolley line.

The iconic vehicles ferried guests between Buena Vista Street and Sunset Boulevard, with stops at Hollywood Boulevard and Carthay Circle. It operated at Disney California Adventure for nearly 13 years, having first opened in July 2012.

The vintage-style trolleys are modeled after the Pacific Electric Railway trolleys used in Los Angeles from 1887 to 1961.

People wait in line beside a wall painted with a sunset scene. A sign nearby reads "Eternal Seaside." Barriers guide visitors, reminiscent of the orderly queues for the Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure, as if anticipating their final ride into a magical sunset.

Guests queued up all day for a last chance to ride the trolley. An extended switchback queue was set up to accommodate the high demand as guests waited to say their goodbyes. It reached capacity for the day and Cast Members closed the line at 8:30 p.m., one hour before it was set to close.

The final ride was saved for Mickey, Minnie, and the Red Car Trolley Cast Members.

The trolley is permanently closed to allow for the expansion of Avengers Campus, a project that will double the Marvel-themed land’s footprint. Part of that footprint includes the barn where the trolleys are stored.

Disney has stated that one of the trolleys will be parked (and will remain stationary) as a photo op for guests.
