The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a fire weather watch for Central Florida, including Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort.
Central Florida Fire Watch
The fire watch is in effect for Thursday, March 6, from late morning through early evening. A fire watch means there will be prime conditions for fires, including low relative humidity and breezy conditions. Any fires that do develop are likely to spread quickly.
Winds are expected west to northwest at 15 to 20 mph with guests up to 30 mph. Humidity will be 25 to 35%.
The watch includes Orange and Osceola counties, home to Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Other counties under the watch include Volusia, Lake, Seminole, Okeechobee, Indian River, Saitn Lucie, Martin, and Brevard.
Outdoor burning is not recommended. Residents and guests, including those staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, should not grill or light campfires.
