Construction continues on the facade of the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT, with scaffolding around part of the pyramid.

Last month, we reported that scaffolding had been set up outside the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT as the area was being prepped for repainting. Scaffolding remains in the area along with the semi-transparent orange scrims.

A set of stanchions previously blocked this walkway, but it was open during our recent visit.

At the end of the walkway, there’s an opening between construction walls and below the scaffolding, leading to a door.

A dimly lit hallway with a sign that says “Please use an alternate Exit” near a detailed information board and a rear door with an exit sign above it.

However, it seems the pathway isn’t supposed to be open. The door is blocked by stanchions and a sign inside, asking guests to use an alternate exit. Two columns in front of the doors are wrapped in scrim.

Elsewhere in the pavilion, Gran Fiesta Tour is still under refurbishment for a few more days, though it did soft-reopen to Cast Members only earlier this week.

The attraction is scheduled to reopen to all guests on Saturday, March 15.

Stay tuned for more updates as the pavilion’s refurbishment continues.
