During Season of the Force at Disneyland, Space Mountain is transformed into Hyperspace Mountain. This year, it has received updated lighting effects both in the queue and on the ride.
During the overlay, the track and layout of the coaster remain the same, but the visual and audio effects are different, adding the “Star Wars” score by John Williams, TIE Fighters, and more.
Hyperspace Mountain
“Star Wars” elements and special lighting effects have been added to the queue for the overlay. The windows that look out into space and the rocket boosters are a bright blue.
There’s also blue lighting at the control tower, as opposed to the red lighting that was seen in previous years.
A screen in the queue gives the direction “Objective: Engage Star Destroyer.”
Blue lighting effects are also present on the lift hill.

The tunnel lights change from white to yellow to red as you hear audio of pilots talking to one another. In previous years, the lights in the tunnel were completely turned off before entering the lift hill.

The lighting and screen effects on the lift hill as you prepare to jump into hyperspace are clearer than in previous years.
Images of the Star Destroyer are projected onto the screens during the ride.
Hyperspace Mountain sends guests on a mission as a briefing from Admiral Ackbar explaining that the New Republic needs help flying reconnaissance vessels to survey an Imperial Star Destroyer. Guests then “join the New Republic squadron for one final, courageous assault on the menacing Star Destroyer.”
Season of the Force takes place from March 28 to May 11, 2025.
