In a wave of recent announcements for Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris, more details and new concept art have been shared of the park’s upcoming land themed to “The Lion King.”
‘The Lion King’ At Disney Adventure World

As first announced during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, a new Pride Lands area themed to “The Lion King” is coming to the soon-to-be-renamed Disney Adventure World. The Disney Parks Blog has now shared more information and two new pieces of art.
The first art shows more details of the previously-confirmed water-based attraction, with the image showing guests sitting in a log similar to those used for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. As we previously confirmed, the land will be based on the animated film rather than the 2019 live-action remake.
When the sun rises on the realm after the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026, an all-new water attraction will plunge guests deep into the heart of the Pride Lands at Disney Adventure World, where Simba will await them for an unforgettable adventure complete with iconic songs from Disney Animation’s 1994 masterpiece, “The Lion King.”
The scene near the guests shows a young Simba meeting Timon and Pumbaa, very similar to the “Hakuna Matata” scene. The rest of the post confirms this ride will include more scenes from the classic film:
After making their way to the caves beneath the 120-foot-high Pride Rock, guests will take their own place in the Circle of Life when they embark on a sensational and musical adventure, moving through iconic scenes and sceneries from the beloved animated movie.

The second new piece of art looks very similar to the previously-released concept art, but it actually drawn from the opposite side of the Pride Rock-style mountain. In this new art, the entrance for the water attraction can be seen on the right of a guest path around the base of the mountain. Similar to the old art, the log vehicles for the water ride are dropping down the side of Pride Rock.
The blog confirms the new attraction will actually include three slopes, including the large 52-foot descent seen in the art:
Brought to life through state-of-the-art special effects and advanced Audio-Animatronics technology, this new attraction will be one of the biggest at Disneyland Paris, featuring three exciting slopes – including an impressive 52-foot-high descent!
As part of the announcements, Disney confirmed construction on “The Lion King” Pride Lands will begin in fall 2025. The Pride Lands can also be spotted on both the new scale model and cartoon-style map of Disney Adventure World released today.
