Guests can now pose for photos at the National Geographic photo-op for “Secrets of the Penguins” at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World.
National Geographic Photo Op
The new photo op advertises the National Geographic “Secrets of the Penguins” three-part series that will premiere on April 20 in time for Earth Day (April 22) on ABC.
The center of the photo op features a large rectangular yellow frame, mimicking the logo for National Geographic. The frame sits atop a white platform meant to resemble an iceberg. A larger wall of ice is positioned behind the frame, with a circular plaque that reads “Our Home” and displays the National Geographic and Disney logos.
To the left and right of the frame are cutouts of penguins. An adult penguin is surrounded by four baby penguins, and another adult penguin stands alone on the opposite side. A floor decal of a penguin diving below the water’s surface is on the pavement in front of the photo op.
On a smaller iceberg prop beside the frame is information for the “Secrets of the Penguins” series. The project is produced by James Cameron and narrated by Blake Lively. The three-part series will also be available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu beginning April 20.
“Secrets of the Penguins” will show viewers “secret traditions, surprising intelligence and close-knit societies of gregarious penguins, never filmed before.”
