New merchandise themed to the Disney animated film “The Lion King” is now available at Walt Disney World. We first discovered the items at Island Mercantile in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Hakuna Matata Backpack – $29.99
This light green backpack features characters from “The Lion King” including Simba, Pumbaa, Timon, Nala, and Zazu. The phrase “Hakuna Matata” is embroidered onto the front zipper pouch.
The interior is yellow and the backpack contains a zip-close top.
The sides of the backpack have two pockets.
The adjustable straps are light green and yellow. The top of the backpack has a yellow carry handle.
Hakuna Matata Hat – $24.99
This red hat also features the phrase “Hakuna Matata” embroidered on the front.
Below the phrase are Simba, Pumbaa, and Timon in front of some green bushes and grass.
The back of the hat has a red adjustable strap.
Scar Ear Headband – $34.99
This ear headband is inspired by Scar. The headband is a plush brown and dark black fur surrounds it resembling Scar’s mane. Two lion ears are positioned at the top of the headband.
A light pink scar is embroidered onto the top of the headband.
Spirit Jersey – $79.99
This Spirit Jersey has the “Disney The Lion King” logo over the front left chest.
The back of the jersey displays the phrase “Hakuna Matata” across the shoulders.
Insects such as a beetle, dragonfly, caterpillar, and butterfly surround the two words.
At the bottom of the jersey is artwork of Simba, Pumbaa, and Timon walking across a log as they do during the song in the film.
Just a few days ago, we found a matching youth Spirit Jersey with a similar design.
