Location
Exterior
Entrance
Mine-Cart Madness takes place in and around the Golden Temple, which looms over Donkey Kong Country with a waterfall on its facade.
To the right of the ride’s entrance is a replica of one of the mine cart vehicles with a pair of seats and restraints.
The sign reads:
Test This Seat Before Riding
This ride employs safety restraints which may restrict certain guests from riding due to body shape and size.
Please use this test seat to ensure your ability to ride.
Guests enter the queue through a golden archway framed by gold palm trees. The standby entrance is on the left, the single rider entrance is on the right. The wait time is posted on both sides.
Queue
Outdoor Queue
Immediately after entering, a bunch of bananas hang in front of guests. There are crates and barrels throughout the queue. Jungle plants fill the flowerbeds.
Some of the barrels feature the signature red and yellow “DK” logo. The pavement has Donkey Kong’s footprints.
There are a series of switchbacks outside for when the ride has a long wait. Guests pass a golden monkey statue as they head inside.
Indoor Queue
Pre-Show
Load Area
Guests board cars resembling wood and metal mine carts. Each car has two rows of two seats, for four total.
Though the cars are lined up close together in the loading area, they are not in trains and run several yards apart.
Ride Experience
As the ride begins outside, guests encounter Dixie Kong, waving from atop a column. The carts then go up the first lift hill, into a large barrel, which seems to shoot the carts forward.

The twisting mine cart track is designed to make it look like carts are jumping gaps. However, the vehicles remain securely attached to a hidden sideways track.
The ride goes in and out of the temple. Guests seem to almost collide with another cart. Professor Chops waves checkered flags before the second lift hill.
There are a few more twists, turns, and dips — including a close encounter with the water — before guests head back into the temple.
There, Donkey Kong hits a button, illuminating the Golden Banana that you’ve kept safe.
Although, it looks like Diddy Kong might make a swipe at the artifact.
