REVIEW: ONE PIECE and Jujutsu Kaisen-Inspired Food at Universal Fan Fest Nights

Shannen Ace

Universal Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood has limited-time food items inspired by anime shows “ONE PIECE” and “Jujutsu Kaisen.”

ONE PIECE

A plate of nachos with meat, mango, and onions sits beside a tray inspired by Universal Fan Fest Nights on a white table.

The “ONE PIECE”-inspired items are available at Sanji’s Galley, a.k.a. Cocina Mexicana. Offerings include Luffy’s Meat on a Bone, Chopper Cupcake, Nico Robin’s Tropical Iced Tea, and Devil Fruit Concha, but we got Sanji’s Chicken Adobo and Straw Hat Crew Nachos.

Sanji’s Chicken Adobo – $16.99

Marinated chicken simmered in a blend of chili and garlic served over Spanish rice, refried beans, and cotija cheese brow

A plate with refried beans, Mexican rice, and shredded chicken—Universal Fan Fest-inspired—next to nachos.

This dish not only looks good, but the chicken is tender and juicy, with the right amount of spice that won’t be too much for anyone. You get a nice flavor with just a hint of garlic and a bit of kick on the back end. The rice is basic and a little mushy, but it’s not inedible. The beans with cotija cheese are surprisingly solid, with a rich, smoky flavor. The cheese adds a nice punch.

Overall, we think this is a solid dish, and we enjoy the themed butcher paper it comes on.

Straw Hat Crew Nachos – $14.99

Tostitos tortilla chips layered with Caribbean jerk chicken, queso, pineapple salsa, and cilantro

A plate of nachos topped with shredded meat, mango, and cheese—perfect fuel for Universal Fan Fest Nights.

The pineapple salsa here is excellent, with the pineapple and mango fresh and juicy. However, he chips are basic, and this has barely enough cheese for us to call them nachos. We would not suggest ordering this.

Jujutsu Kaisen

The Jujutsu Kaisen Concession Cart is adjacent to the DreamWorks Theatre. Here, we got the Sukuna Cursed Crunch, Ten Shadows Churro, Yuji’s Chocolate Brownie, and Nobara’s Strawberry Hammer Smash.

Sukuna Cursed Crunch – $5.99

Red velvet cookie with white chocolate chips

This cookie is shaped like Sukuna’s mouth with a black tattoo on the tongue. It’s not the freshest cookie, but it’s pleasant. The white chocolate chips are of good quality.

Ten Shadows Churro – $6.99

Vanilla and chocolate churros coated in vanilla and chocolate icing, sprinkles, and printed token

Two decorated churros, inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen, topped with triangle logo candies, served in a white paper tray.

These are good and fresh, but they almost aren’t churros. They’re more like glazed donuts. They’re rich and sweet. We prefer the vanilla, but the chocolate is also good, tasting like cookies and cream.

Yuji’s Chocolate Brownie – $5.99

Caramel-filled brownie topped with buttercream frosting

A hand holds a small cake with red frosting and a decorative yellow swirl on a blue and red band.

This brownie is dense, rich, and sticky with chocolate. It’s of nice quality, and we like the cookie crumbles on top. The icing on top, however, is super sweet and almost too rich.

Nobara’s Strawberry Hammer Smash – $11

Frozen strawberry beverage with a sweet and spicy Tajin rim, garnished with a fresh strawberry

A red frozen drink in a plastic cup, garnished with a strawberry and rimmed with chili powder, sits on a wooden table.

We expected this to taste artificial, but were surprised to find it tasted like fresh muddled strawberries. With the spicy rim, it was spectacular. It’s a basic combination but done thoughtfully.
