Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts Announce New Executive Chef

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin announced they have promoted Chef Devin Queen to executive chef.

Queen began working in restaurant kitchens at age 12 as a dishwasher. He studied at the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

Queen has 24 years of food and beverage experience with Marriott, 22 years of which were in restaurants and the banquets department of the Swan and Dolphin. Queen began his career as sous chef at Shula’s Steak House. He was later promoted to restaurant chef and was also chosen as the opening restaurant chef for Il Mulino. Queen was eventually appointed complex banquet chef.

As the new executive chef, Queen plans to focus on collaborating with his team, satisfying guests, and giving mutual respect to his colleagues.

This is an enormous role where you want to succeed. My goal is to succeed while staying grounded at the same time.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, operated by Marriott International, is located between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It opened in 1990. The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve opened nearby in 2021.

Last fall, the Swan and Dolphin announced a $275 million update to their convention and meeting spaces, and guest rooms. Meanwhile, Shula’s Steak House will soon close to be replaced with Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina.
