Cinderella Castle Stage Refurbishment Begins at Magic Kingdom

Refurbishment has begun on the stage of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, and performances of “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” are still paused due to the construction.

In our last update, there weren’t many signs of the refurbishment when approaching Cinderella Castle. However, there was ample signage indicating there were “No Showtimes” for “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire.” The show is usually performed on the stage several times throughout the day.

None of the stage’s flooring has been removed, but there are still many signs of wear and tear. The grid of black tape, which acts as markers for the performers, has now been removed in preparation for refreshment work.

One area near the right staircase, looking out at Main Street U.S.A., has a sizable crack in the concrete which could cause injury if someone were to trip over it. This is likely one of the repairs that will be made during the refurbishment.

The last major refurbishment of the Cinderella Castle stage took place last summer. That refurbishment lasted around three weeks and involved completely replacing the worn floor of the stage. Because the flooring was replaced last year, this refurbishment might be a shorter, simpler project to repair the wear and cracks.

On the Walt Disney World website, no performances of “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” are scheduled through May 18, with regular performances listed again starting on Monday, May 19. However, the refurbishment may be extended further depending on the extent of the work.
