The scheduled refurbishment of the Cinderella Castle stage in Magic Kingdom has been completed on time, and performances of “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” have already resumed.
Cinderella Castle Stage Refurbishment
The stage in front of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom closed for refurbishment on May 13, just around one week ago. As we previously reported, there were some noticeable cracks in the stage concrete and the tape marking spots for the performers had all been removed. As a result, performances of “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” were paused.
The entertainment schedule on the Walt Disney World website listed that the show would return on May 19, assuming the refurbishment work was completed on time. It now appears the work has been successfully finished, as the show is already back to performing multiple times each day.
Our reporter was unable to get closer pictures of the refreshed Cinderella Castle stage at this time, since “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” had already blocked off all the nearby walkways to prepare for the morning show. However, it does appear that the concrete of the stage has been touched-up, and some of the larger cracks appear to be smoother from a distance.
For comparison, above is an image taken during the refurbishment process. The plain gray concrete showed signs of wear and weathering.
With work seemingly completed, “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” is back to performing daily at 10 a.m., 11:10 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 4 p.m. This same schedule continues through all of May and June on the website entertainment calendar.
The previously most recent refurbishment of the Cinderella Castle stage took place in the summer of 2024. That refurbishment, which involved completely replacing the worn stage floor, lasted much longer and involved wrapping the entire stage in construction scrims. Since the floor was already completely changed, this latest refurbishment was likely just a touch-up.
