For Cool Kid Summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Dino Institute intern is now roaming Discovery Island, and a limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge is available.

The musical interns previously just appeared at Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand U.S.A. During Cool Kid Summer, you’ll spot the intern roaming Discovery Island near the stage across from Flame Tree Barbecue.
The intern improvises songs and tells stories, often based on guests’ lives or suggestions.
He was joined by Timon and Rafiki on Tuesday, helping him with his music. Other characters might also join the intern.

Limited-Time Wilderness Explorers Badge
The limited-time Wilderness Explorers badge is available at the station near “Feathered Friends in Flight!” in the Asia section.
Cast Members will assist guests in making a leaf imprint in their Wilderness Explorers field journal.
Guests get a “badge” sticker featuring two hands and a leaf. This badge has been available before for limited-time Earth Day celebrations.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom also has a special pollinators craft related to bees and butterflies available at Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
Cool Kid Summer runs through September 1. Other offerings include dance parties at Magic Kingdom, special character encounters, and GoofyCore at EPCOT. Check out the Cool Kid Summer guides for each park.
