Disney has shared more details regarding the upcoming event celebrating the 30th anniversary of “A Goofy Movie” with a special Throwback Premiere for D23 Members at Walt Disney World.
‘A Goofy Movie’ Throwback Premiere Event
An update to the D23 official website has added new details for the event called A Goofy Movie Throwback Premiere. The event is scheduled to take place on August 28, 2025, with times at both 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the AMC Dine-In located in Disney Springs. It was first teased by Disney during the reveal for Destination D23 2025, which is taking place at Walt Disney World during the same week.
Before summer comes to an end, D23 Members are invited to head back onto the open road for A Goofy Movie Throwback Premiere event, taking place at AMC Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida! Join us for the finale of our anniversary programming for “A Goofy Movie”—in the exact spot where the fan-favorite film premiered 30 years ago. Yep, we’re having a throwback bash to the max!
Each event ticket to the Throwback Premiere will include:
- An exclusive “A Goofy Movie” Throwback Premiere red carpet walk-through experience at Stargazers Bar at Planet Hollywood (where the film premiered in 1995)
- D23-exclusive “A Goofy Movie”-themed photo opportunities, plus a film-inspired beverage
- A big-screen presentation at AMC Disney Springs of “A Goofy Movie” (1995) with interactive, fan-powered moments
- An exclusive Activation Kit filled with interactive surprises and themed goodies to make your movie experience extra magical, including:
- A limited-edition Lester’s Possum Park pennant
- A commemorative Powerline concert ticket with lanyard
- A limited-edition “A Goofy Movie” pin
- Exclusive content, trivia, and more
The website further breaks down the schedule for both showtimes on August 28. When booking tickets, guests book a specific time period for the walk-through red carpet experience prior to the film’s screening time. The time periods begin one hour prior to the screening and are broken down into 15-minute intervals. For example, guests booking for the 4:30 p.m. showtime can choose either 3:30 p.m., 3:45 p.m., 4 p.m., or 4:15 p.m. to walk the red carpet. The breakdown is the same for the 7:30 p.m. screening.
D23 Members are able to reserve a ticket for themselves and up to four guests for A Goofy Movie Throwback Premiere. While some past events have been exclusive to D23 Gold Members, this event is open to D23 General Members as well. The Gold Member tickets are $50 (plus a $3 processing fee per ticket), while the General Member tickets are $60 (plus a $3 processing fee per ticket).
Ticket quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 1 p.m. ET (or 10 a.m. PT) on Friday, May 9, 2025. The tickets will be available through links on the official D23 webpage for the event. In order to purchase a ticket, D23 Members must log in using their valid account credentials.
The tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the named individual. All guests under the age of 18 must have a valid ticket and be accompanied by a legal guardian. A ticket is not required for children under the age of 3, but only ticketed guests will receive the event gifts.
Finally the webpage for the event includes some rules about costumes or dressing-up for the Throwback Premiere. Attendees are allowed to wear costumes, so long as they do not drag on the ground, contain sharp objects, or be considered offensive. Guests may wear costume masks, but they must be removable and cannot be worn inside the building. Any masks or costume elements that obstruct guests’ faces will also be removed at security screening. Walt Disney World has also been celebrating the 30th anniversary of “A Goofy Movie” with the release of several new merchandise items including a Loungefly bag and Powerline Max cap.
