Universal Orlando Resort confirmed there will be a small celebration with Epic Universe guests on the park’s official opening day, May 22.
Epic Universe Opening Day
Universal announced a grand opening celebration, which is restricted to media, will be livestreamed on the evening of May 21. In response to questions on X about May 22, the first day the park is officially open to the public, Universal Orlando Resort said, “We are excited to officially open Universal Epic Universe on May 22 and will hold a brief celebratory moment to mark the occasion with our Guests. Additional grand opening day operational details will be shared soon.”
Epic Universe has been in preview mode for the past several weeks. May 19 is the last day of previews. Universal will then host invited media.
The new park has five “worlds”: Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, and Super Nintendo World.
Celestial Park is an original non-IP world featuring attractions Stardust Racers and Constellation Carousel. In How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, guests can enjoy “The Untrainable Dragon” stage show, the Fyre Drill water ride, and the coaster Hiccup’s Wing Gliders.
The Wizarding World transports guests to 1920s Paris for the show Le Cirque Arcanus, inspired by “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Guests then travel to England in the late ’90s for the trial of Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. Dark Universe, inspired by Universal Monsters, has monster meet and greets, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, and Curse of the Werewolf.
Epic Universe features the third version of Super Nintendo World. It includes all three Super Nintendo World rides: Yoshi’s Adventure, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, and Mine-Cart Madness.
