Food Booth Names Revealed, Additional Theming Arrives for Amity’s Return to Universal Studios Florida for ‘Jaws’ 50th Anniversary

The newly constructed food booths in the temporary Amity Island set-up in Universal Studios Florida have received signage along with additional theming added to San Francisco Candy Company, where guests can purchase “Jaws” 50th anniversary merchandise.

Amity Island Food Booths

In our previous Amity Island update, both new food booths had been constructed but were only plain buildings. Although not yet serving guests, both booths now have signage.

The light blue building is called Captain Quint’s Boardwalk Snacks. While we do not have an official menu, the quick service location will serve Coca-Cola products, as denoted by the brand’s sign located just above what will likely be the menu window.

The yellow and green booth is called The Midway Grill. Logos for “Nathan’s Brand Hotdogs” and “World Famous Frankfurters” are located on either side of the location’s name. Serving Nathan’s brand hotdogs fits well with the Fourth of July weekend celebration happening in the fictional town.

Ride Script Added to Photo-Op

Captain Jake’s Amity Boat Tours, a.k.a Jaws the attraction, was open in Universal Studios Florida from 1990 to 2012. A photo-op tribute for the former ride is available, and now a ride script and other training materials have been posted behind the wheel.

The script begins with the ride Skipper saying “Hello?…Anybody here?” before “something huge and unseen” smashes into the boat. Following lots of chaos shouting, the skipper is successful in getting the boat running and exclaims “Yes! We’re outta here!” A ride layout and directional is also included next to the script with a personal note to “please return at end of shift” from “Skip.”

More Props in San Francisco Candy Company

The San Francisco Candy Factory is currently home to more film memorabilia and Easter eggs along with the “Jaws” Anniversary merchandise. Since our last visit, additional props have been added to the store.

Two uniforms—a green patched jacket and Amity Police shirt—shine in this Jaws 50th Anniversary exhibit at Universal Studios Florida.

Among the new props are actual costumes from the film.

A jacket worn by the Orca’s Captain, Quint, and a uniform for Amity Chief of Police, Martin C. Brody are displayed in a glass case.

Along with a No Swimming sign, is a “genuine piece of the Orca II, the sinkable prop used in the filming of ‘Jaws.'” According to the information card, the Orca II was purchased by Lynn Murphy in 1974.

Another warning sign for the Amity Boat Tour warns of “motion discomfort,” and “to store cameras or other property susceptible to water damage” as guests would get wet on the ride. An Amity Boat Tours shirt is folded in the bottom of the display alongside the Louisiana license plate found inside the tiger shark. This is the shark that the fishermen initially believe to be the man-eating shark.

“Jaws” | Amity signs have also been added to the cash register area. Red, white, and blue banners have been added around the ceiling to further the 4th of July theme.

A Full Day/Half Day Charters advertisement for Amity Boat Tours promotes “sport fishing tours” and “daily shark hunts.”

Three framed pictures, including a map, hang on a brick wall inside a restaurant with large windows.

Additional framed artwork has also been added behind the registers.

A map of the Amity Boat Tour layout is located just below images of a building and set piece from the film.

A yellow sign on a black gate reads, "NO ENTRANCE UNLESS BOAT IS PRESENT," next to a brick wall.

Another themed sign stating “no entrance unless boat is present” has been posted.

A new window display also features film memorabilia along with poster art of each “Jaws” franchise film.

“Jaws” Display Added to CityWalk Studios Store

A smaller “Jaws” display has been added to the Universal Studios Store in CityWalk. A few items from the the anniversary collection are available under the display.

The display is made to look as if it is under water with a floating shark, sea grass, and sand. There is also a “Jaws” 50th Anniversary sign that appears partially buried in the sand.

A crab is also shown with a Narragansett Lager Beer can between its claws. The can is a replica of the one crushed in the film. Another “Jaws” 50th Anniversary sign is posted on the back of the display.

Other “Jaws” offerings at Universal Studios Florida include a host of new merchandise, an annual passholder “Jaws” magnet, and a “Jaws” sipper coming soon. Also check out Alamo Drafthouse’s “Jaws” popcorn bucket.

Over at Universal Studios Hollywood, the park is celebrating with new surprises on the world famous Studio Tour, including a special summer-long July 4th celebration at the Jaws Lake attraction. There will also be “Jaws” 50th anniversary merchandise and special food items.
