Actor George Wendt, best known for his role as Norm on “Cheers,” passed away at age 76. Wendt was known by the Disney community as the Stomach from Cranium Command, a former EPCOT attraction.

Wendt’s passing was confirmed by his publicist, who issued the following statement:
“George was a doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him. He will be missed forever. The family has requested privacy during this time.”
In addition to Cranium Command, Wendt also played Chet in “Man of the House,” Sparks in “The Pooch and the Pauper,” and Grandpa Clancy on “Fancy Nancy.”
Wendt was born on October 17, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois.

Wendt’s handprints can be found outside the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Birkett, and their three children.
