Give Kids the World Village has announced the beginning of a new fundraising and awareness campaign called “Share Your Light” that will culminate in a water lantern event later this summer.
‘Share Your Light’ Campaign

Give Kids the World Villiage (GKTW) is a nonprofit resort built specifically to serve children with critical illnesses and their families:
Children visiting Central Florida on their “wish trips,” stay with their families at Give Kids The World’s storybook Village for weeklong, dream vacations. Give Kids The World provides meals, transportation, nightly entertainment, and complimentary passes to Orlando’s world-famous theme parks and other attractions. There is never any charge to visiting families, and no child is ever turned away. Since 1986, Give Kids The World Village has served more than 200,000 children and families from all 50 states and 77 countries. GKTW is four-star rated by Charity Navigator, with more than 93 cents of every dollar it spends going to program services.

GKTW has recently shared in a press release that they are celebrating the milestone of fulfilling 200,000 wishes, as well as their upcoming 40th anniversary. As a result, GKTW has announced a new awareness and fundraising campaign called “Share Your Light: Celebrating 200,000 Wishes Fulfilled.” In addition to highlighting the remarkable stories of families and the impact of fulfilling wishes for children with a critical illness, the campaign will culminate in a water lantern event on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Light comes in many forms. At Give Kids The World Village, it comes in the form of the smiles, laughter, and joy that emanate from the children that they host during weeklong, cost-free vacations. Although these children are all fighting the darkness of a critical illness, their battles are a testament to the powerful story of light over dark – a story that countless supporters have helped Give Kids The World write as they’ve created the happiness that inspires hope for 200,000 children and their families. To celebrate this remarkable, bittersweet milestone, Give Kids The World is launching Share Your Light: Celebrating 200,000 Wishes Fulfilled, an awareness and fundraising campaign culminating in a water lantern event on Saturday, June 21. Give Kids The World believes that Share Your Light will help symbolize their mission and amplify a message of light and hope that can illuminate every corner of the world.

As a part of the “Share Your Light” campaign, GKTW is offering several fundraising opportunities. Supporters can visit the official campaign website to make a donation, and donations will be broken into three tiers with exclusive benefits:
- $20: Access to a “do-it-yourself” water lantern kit to participate in from home.
- $200: An oversized water lantern art sticker will be placed on our Wall of Hope, an inspirational landmark that sits at the heart of the Village.
- $2,000: A water lantern will be released in donor’s honor during the Share Your Light water lantern event on Saturday, June 21.
Another facet of the “Share Your Light” campaign is a mini-docu series which will share the stories of Village families, donors, and volunteers. The first episode is available online now at the official Give Kids the World Village YouTube channel.

Finally, GKTW has announced a new partnership with PATH, creators of the first refillable and 100% recyclable bottled water. PATH will be donating two of their reusable water bottles for each incoming family, “an in-kind donation that will total more than 30,000 bottles a year.” The partnership will also include a new Give Kids the World Village reusable water bottle. The bottle will have a custom, “Share Your Light”-themed design and will launch later this summer.
