Universal Orlando Resort has announced that the Hogwarts Express will be temporarily closed for a quick refurbishment.
Hogwarts Express Closed for Refurbishment
According to the Universal Orlando Resort official website, the train will be closed from Tuesday, May 27, 2025 through Friday, May 30. It will reopen on Saturday, May 31. The closure is for planned maintenance.
Guests can normally utilize the Hogwarts Express to travel back and forth between The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade in Universal Islands of Adventure.
During this closure, guests will have to switch parks the old-fashioned way: by walking through the main entrance. Guests will still need a Park-to-Park ticket to visit both parks on the same day.
Each way aboard the Hogwarts Express offers a different experience, featuring appearances from Dementors, Hagrid, the treat trolley, and even Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Guests under 48 inches tall are required to have a supervising companion ride with them. Universal Express Pass is available.
