Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Now Closed, Menu Removed from Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is now permanently closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the menu for the restaurant has already been removed.

The menu for Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano first disappeared last night, May 10, just after the restaurant closed following its last-ever dinner service.

The menu used to be displayed in this green case to the left of the restaurant’s entrance. It is now empty, though the labels for Lunch and Dinner remain.

Checking back in on the restaurant on the morning of May 11, the back corner of Grand Avenue was extremely quiet.

The bright red doors for Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano were closed, and no lights were turned on in the dining area.

No changes have been made to the menu case since last night, with the Lunch and Dinner labels still present. Both use the colors of the Italian flag to match the theming of the restaurant.

Interestingly, both of these labels were covered by one large menu when the restaurant closed. For the past several years, Mama Melrose’s has been serving the same menu for both lunch and dinner. These labels are likely left over from when the menus for each meal used to be different.

No other changes have been made to the facade of Mama Melrose’s yet, though we expect some tarps or construction walls will arrive in the area soon.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is the first official closure in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to make was for the future land themed to Monsters Inc. Both MuppetVision 3D and PizzeRizzo will also be closing soon, with the last day of operation for both locations on June 7. The Muppets will be taking over the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, though a last day of operation for the attraction in its current form has not been announced yet.
