Universal Studios Hollywood announced more details of Universal Mega Movie Summer, including a “Jaws” photo op, a “Wicked” meet and greet, and a sneak peek at the Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift ride vehicles.

Jurassic World

Universal previously announced the “Mosasaurus Splash” on Jurassic World – The Ride. This will involve bigger splashes and additional water cannons. Universal is also adding Spitters. For a small fee, other guests can shoot water at riders.

There will also be a scavenger hunt for tiny dinosaurs scattered around Jurassic World, including the ride. Guests who participate will unscramble the letters held by the dinos. Once they’ve figured out the message, they can pick up an exclusive button in Jurassic Outfitters.

To celebrate the release of “Jurassic World Rebirth” on July 2, there will also be a new Jurassic World explorer meet and greet and a photo op with a Spinosaurus coming out of the water to attack your boat.

Jaws

To celebrate 50 years of “Jaws,” Universal Studios Hollywood will get a new hanging shark photo op, similar to the one at Universal Studios Florida. The photo op will go up outside WaterWorld. Chief Brody and Quint will also meet at the shark for a limited time.

Hollywood & Dine becomes Amity Island Cafe for the summer with these “Jaws” menu items: Lobster Roll, Vegan Crab Cake Sandwich, Fish and Chips, Fish and Chicken Basket, and Shark Bait Burger. “Jaws” 50th anniversary merchandise will be available for purchase.

On The World-Famous Studio Tour, Amity Island will be decked out for Fourth of July all summer long.

Back to the Future

Universal will celebrate another movie milestone with “Back to the Future” 40th anniversary offerings. Mel’s Diner will continue to serve the “Back to the Future”-themed menu items first introduced for Universal Fan Fest Nights. Guests will also get to meet Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and Doc’s dog Einstein, plus take a picture with the Time Machine. The characters also appeared during Fan Fest Nights.

“Wicked”

Two people in elaborate costumes pose in front of a decorative backdrop for a Glinda and Elphaba meet and greet. One wears a black witch outfit, while the other dazzles in a pink gown and crown.

Elphaba and Glinda from “Wicked” will meet at Universal Studios Hollywood. They previously appeared during Fan Fest Nights. The duo met separately, but we don’t know if they will still meet separately during Mega Movie Summer. They have met together at Universal Studios Florida.

“Wicked” merchandise will be available in the Feature Presentation Store.
