Goofy has taken over CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT, turning it into “GoofyCore” for Cool Kid Summer. The overlay includes decorations, a DJ, and games.
GoofyCore at CommuniCore Hall
CommuniCore Hall will open at 9:15 a.m. daily, playing Goofy cartoons in the morning. Throughout the day, activities with Goofy will alternate with “¡Celebración Encanto!” in CommuniCore Plaza. When activities aren’t going on, the hall will still be open with DJ music.
GoofyCore Decorations
Earlier this week, Disney added paint splatter decals to the windows and doors of CommuniCore Hall.
A mural between each set of doors features Goofy’s face and the words, “Have a Gooftastic Summer!” Cool Kid Summer runs from May 27 through September 1.
Almost all furniture has been removed from inside CommuniCore Hall. There is no merchandise or food for purchase. In the center of the room is a large structure featuring four columns covered in paint splatters.
Between the columns is a platform with the DJ’s set up. TV screens mounted around the top of the structure show classic Goofy cartoons.
One such cartoon is “The Art of Skiing,” a 1941 Goofy cartoon famous for introducing the Goofy holler. It led to a series of “How to…” Goofy shorts, which mostly saw Goofy attempt different sports and outdoor activities. The last of these shorts was “How to Hook Up Your Home Theater” in 2007.
The structure has various knobs, hands, and machine-type elements. This is “Goofy’s Game Machine,” as we saw in preview footage of GoofyCore.
The hall is relatively dimly lit, but some colorful lights shine down on the structure, illuminating the different colors of paint.

The skylight-style circles in the ceiling feature images from the 1940 short “Goofy’s Glider.” One showcases the glider, while the other shows Goofy in the sky with his parachute.
Floor decals turn the space into a giant board game. There are lines of colorful game squares, some featuring an icon like Goofy’s hat, Minnie’s bow, or an acorn for Chip ‘n’ Dale. Outside of the game squares are polka-dots, music notes, and swirls of color. One circle resembles a pool of water with a rickety wood bridge and a beach ball.
Matching decals are along the tops of the walls and running down the wall columns.
One wall is the start and finish of the board game, with special decals above the doorways. A mural between the doors features a trophy image for the winners.
Although there’s not much furniture in the hall, there are cushioned benches along the wall for parents or kids who want to take a break from the fun.
The kitchen, usually open for guests to see as they wait for food, is blocked off with almost opaque windows. The counters are still open so guests can set their bags or other personal items down.

Hanging from the ceiling are giant game cards featuring character faces on one side and instructions on the other. For example, drawing a Minnie Mouse card might mean you “Strike a pose! Collect three bows!” A Donald card might send you back to start — “Ah phooey!”

There are large soft play blocks for kids to play with when games aren’t ongoing.
DJ & Goof Troop

Goofy’s assistants for GoofyCore activities are the “Goof Troop,” named after the 1990s animated series starring Goofy and Max. These Cast Members wear yellow shirts and green vests.

The DJ is also part of the Goof Troop. When Goofy isn’t leading games, the DJ will keep spinning tunes.
Board Game

Before Goofy arrived, the Goof Troop led guests in an actual board game on the floor. The spaces light up for kids to follow alongside the Cast Members.
Stretching
Periodically, Goofy will arrive, and the games begin.

Goofy and the Goof Troop start by leading guests in a series of stretches and dance moves.
Goofy Limbo
The first game we played was Goofy Limbo! It’s like regular limbo, but Goofy is there.
Limbo took place on the pool decal, with guests crossing over the rickety bridge.
Some of Goofy’s laundry is tied to the limbo rope, which Cast Members hold up.
Parachutes N’ PipSqueaks
Parachutes N’ PipSqueaks is played with a giant colorful parachute you might remember from elementary school gym.

Guests, Cast Members, and Goofy hold the edges of the parachute, swinging it up and down to turn it into a tent that kids can run under.
Goofy Says

Goofy Says is just like Simon Says — but with Goofy!
Goofy’s Game Machine Dance Party

Playing all three games fills up Goofy’s Game Machine with enough energy to start a dance party. After a few minutes of dancing, it’s time for Goofy to head out.
