Walt Disney World has shared new photos and video of the upcoming stage show, “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” debuting next week at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
New Look at ‘The Little Mermaid’ Show Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The new images shared by Disney are our first glimpse at Ariel in the show, following a previous reveal of Eric and Ursula. Here, we can see Ariel “floating” under the sea in her iconic green tail alongside Flounder and other sea creatures.
Another image shows Ariel encountering Ursula the sea witch, who now sports an updated look from her previous puppet appearance in the former “Voyage of The Little Mermaid” show.
Here, Ariel longs to be “Part of Your World,” reaching up toward the surface from her grotto.
Another image, likely from an “Under the Sea” sequence, is pulled straight from initial concept art released for the new production.
Another glimpse at Ariel with Ursula was also shared, this time showing Ariel signing her voice away in exchange for legs. Puppets of Flotsam and Jetsam, Ursula’s two pet eels, can also be spotted.
This image features the “Kiss the Girl” sequence in the show, also drawing from concept art released for the show. Here, a Sebastian puppet sings in the shadows to the left, with Flounder splashing up from the water behind Ariel and Eric, who sit together in a rowboat.
The final image shared is that of Ariel and Flounder in her grotto, likely during “Part of Your World.”
Disney also recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at the production featuring Jodi Benson, the original voice of Ariel from the animated film. The theater’s new marquee was installed earlier this month. The show will be part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios next week on May 27, the same day as “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After.“
