Universal Helios Grand Hotel marks a major milestone for Universal Orlando Resort as it is the resort’s first hotel attached to a park, which in this case is Epic Universe. We stayed in a non-theme park view King Suite at the Universal Helios Grand Hotel ahead of Epic Universe’s official opening on May 22.
King Suite Room Tour

Upon entering the suite, there are distinct separations between the main bedroom, living area, and bathroom.

A table and four chairs are located between the couch and kitchenette. On top of the table is an ice bucket and Helios Grand custom coaster. The table is gray with a fake wood pattern, while the chairs are gray textured velvet.

Phases of the moon are shown in the gold-framed paper art above the table.

The living room and bedroom are both carpeted in a dark blue color with gray floral shapes. A ledge for storing remotes and other trinkets is attached to the wall below the TV. Both are hanging across from the gray sofa bed.

The sofa bed folds out, leaving almost no room between the bed and the wall. There is a pink chair for additional seating just on the other side of the sofa, along with a small side table. On the table is an iPad with an app that allows you to make bookings, order room service, access guest media, and get information about Universal Orlando Resort.

A kitchenette with a microwave is available across from the living room area. This is a standard installation with a brown cabinet and white counter.

There is also a small sink, coffee maker, and coffee fixings atop the microwave.

A small fridge is located in the kitchenette for foods that can be eaten cold or quickly microwaved.

Just as in the Two Queen Beds room at the hotel, the bedding is mostly neutral tones. All the color has been saved for the long, padded headboard attached to the wall behind the bed. The bedding is slightly fuzzy to the touch.

Each bedside table features two plugs on either side, as well as USB-A and USB-C ports for charging electronic devices. On one table sits another iPad, while the other has a phone and hotel information card.

A small table with one sandy pink chair sits by the window. A gold floor lamp is also on this side of the room.

There’s a nice large TV on the wall, along with an identical small shelf for the storage of small items during guest stays.

Inside the closet you’ll find extra bedding, clothes hangers, an iron and ironing board, a luggage rack, and a safe with a keypad lock.

The vanity is a sandy coral color with gold accents and plenty of storage. Additional towels and a hair dryer can be found within the drawers. Q-tips, cotton swabs, and Helios Grand-stamped tissues are available for use.

The mirror is shaped like a puzzle piece and it has cut-out areas to allow the spherical light fixtures to shine. A Julien Farel-branded shower cap and face wash are also provided.

For privacy, there is a dark blue sliding door between the vanity and toilet/shower room.

The walk-in shower has a nice-sized ledge for shaving or sitting. It is covered in sky blue subway tiles running vertically up the walls. Inside are more Julien Farel: The Science of Hair containers of body wash, vitamin conditioner, and vitamin shampoo.
Overall, we really like the aesthetics in this room. The colors are unique, the fixtures are not standard shapes, a lot of the fabric is textured, and the room fits the overall feeling of the hotel very well. However, we do think this room is definitely lacking some storage options, so this might be a struggle for guests staying for a long time or with lots of bags. We also thought the folding sofa bed was extremely difficult to use, given the small space around it. The sofa bed might work for children or smaller guests, but that room would be very difficult for an adult to navigate when the sofa is folded out.
