This is, for some reason, called a walking taco, but it’s served on a plate rather than in a Fritos bag like we’d normally see for this type of dish. Perhaps it should have been a Walking Taco-Inspired Fried Tamale. Regardless, we don’t advise walking around with this.

This is incredible, despite not fitting its name. It’s the best offering we’ve had for this celebration, and we’d eat this every day. It has a rich, almost smoky flavor. The crisp Fritos and onions against the doughy tamale make for a great texture profile. We don’t even care about the weird nomenclature. Get this; no questions asked.

We were very excited about the chocolate-covered Fritos, and they did not disappoint. We’d eat a bowl full of just those and be happy. However, we’re glad we tried the whole dessert. The orange crust of the pastry itself had a little bit of a savory spice to it that we couldn’t identify, but it was just right. The cream inside is cold and smooth. This was another big hit.
