Red Rose Taverne Food Reviews

Hook’s Galley Tuna Melt – $13.99

Fresh Tuna Salad topped with Muenster and Herb-marinated Tomatoes served with House Chips

This dish is inspired by the tuna-filled menu of the defunct Captain Hook’s Galley restaurant. Originally called The Chicken of the Sea, which was an opening-day venue, the seafood joint was renamed after the infamous villain in 1969.

Moving to the modern-day Red Rose Taverne, this has a bit of a spicy kick from the tuna, and it’s delicious. The herb-marinated tomato is flavorful and juicy, and the muenster pairs well with the rest of the components. The house-made chips are equally good. The bread is nicely toasted and makes a good base for the rest.

70th Stuff – $7.29

Shortbread Cookie with a Cookies and Cream Cake, Fresh Raspberry and Raspberry Jam, surrounded with White Chocolate Mousse and topped with Colored Sprinkles

This is one of the better versions of the Grey Stuff that has passed through Red Rose Taverne. The 70th Celebration has been raspberry-heavy with the desserts, but this was one of the better options.

Beverage Review

Sparkling Peach Punch – $6.99 or $13.19 with a glow cube

Sprite and Peach Syrup with Assorted Popping Spheres

It’s very refreshing. We’d love this on a nice summer day. It’s nothing complex or fancy, but it makes for a fun non-alcoholic drink.
