REVIEW: “Deconstructed Cheeseburger” Cowboy Fries From Golden Horseshoe for Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary

For the 70th anniversary of Disneyland, The Golden Horseshoe has wrangled up some Cowboy Fries.

The Golden Horseshoe

A radiant sign reading "The Golden Horseshoe" adorns the building, accentuated by decorative elements and twinkling lights.

The Golden Horseshoe is located in Frontierland, near Stage Door Cafe.

Cowboy Fries – $13.99

Fries, Nacho Cheese, Sautéed Ground Beef, Burger Sauce, and Butter Pickles

The Cowboy Fries are another nostalgic dish, “inspired by the past,” for the anniversary. According to Disney, these are a “deconstructed tribute” to the cheeseburgers and fries sold in Frontierland when the park opened in 1955.

The base is your basic Disney Parks fries. The butter pickles have a strong flavor. The dish is a little messy to eat and made from simple, run-of-the-mill ingredients, but it comes together to make a decent snack. It’s hearty and fitting for Frontierland. However, the price point is a bit high for what you get.

The Disneyland 70th Anniversary celebrations run from May 16 through summer 2026 (a specific end date has not yet been announced).
